Make Him Want Me

•    DON’T BECOME THE EX FROM HELL!  Seriously, the worst thing you can do now is to start pestering him with calls, messages and texts. Constant nagging will only make him more relieved that you split. Let him have the [chance to actually miss you. Try and keep your dignity in tact, no letting him see you crying and absolutely no drunken phone calls.

•    MAINTAIN CIVIL RELATIONS : Now is not the time to start issuing demands or being petty about stuff. However happy it may make you feel in the short term to do something stupid, don’t. to return] you are not in a position to [tell. Try and listen to what he says about what has been going wrong between you. Of course that does not mean being a doormat.

•    DON’T SIT ABOUT MOPING!: Getting back in the saddle, so to speak, is the best way to beat the blues. This could mean seeing girlfriends and going out – it doesn’t have to mean getting a new man. Your life will carry on with or without him, let him see it!

•    BE YOURSELF :  The most you can do is be the best that you are, don’t try and be someone else. He chose you because he saw something in you that he liked.  Don’t make any massive differences thinking it will please him. Someone who remains secure about who they are is far more an attractive option than someone who feels the need to change on a whim!

•    BUT… BE PREPARED TO TAKE STUFF ON BOARD:  Did he say why when he split with you? Is there something you can both do to make this work? Should you make more time for him? Were financial issues the sore point? If it’s not down to actual getting along with each other, it could be more easily rectified than you think. Think about what you really want and how far you are prepared to compromise without completely changing the person you are.

•    BE REASONABLE : Now is not the time to start making demands or being petty about stuff. Resist the temptation to tear up his favorite shirts. The onus is on you to try and find a way to get him to see you in a better light. Concentrate on being the listener and try and build some bridges. This doesn’t mean lying down and accepting everything he says or does without question, though.

•    GET OUT THERE!: Getting back in the saddle, so to speak, is the best way to beat a broken heart. It doesn’t have to be a date (although that certainly isn’t a bad thing) but try and remain upbeat. It won’t do any harm to let your ex see you can enjoy yourself without him!

•    DON’T PRETEND TO BE SOMEONE YOU AREN’T :  Absolutely don’t try and live up to what you think is someone else’s expectations of you. He chose you for a reason, they were attracted to you for the person you are.  There is no need to start altering yourself loads to fit in with you think their idea of perfect is. It should be enough that you can be happy as you are!

•    LISTEN TO HIM:  Was there a definite reason that he broke up with you? Was the partnership having problems – is there anything that can be done? Maybe you weren’t doing enough things as a couple? Were financial issues the sore point? If the issue is basically superficial it may be easier to fix than if it is a basic question of compatibility. There is some in between wanting to keep your partner and having to completely alter everything, though.
